What-U-Hear Track Recorder is a software that allows you to record audio tracks on your PC in an effortless manner. It can help you if you want to record audio files to your computer for future reference.

The program is compatible with all major operating systems and contains the following main features:

Allows you to choose between many formats and quality profiles


There is a program that I have found to be excellent for my needs. It is called Audacity. It is very basic but extremely powerful and has many options that are not available with other similar programs.


Go to the Sound Recorder control panel and make sure “External Audio I/O Devices” is checked.
Next go to “Options”, then to “Recording” tab, then click the “Audio Track” button. Choose “Enable Recording”.
You should be able to select what you want to record. Try turning your mic on, then off and recording what you hear.
The reason I tell you to do this is to help eliminate background sounds.


Avoiding code repetition when developing, I have some bad ideas…

I am developing an application that uses image processing in a very specific way.
The input is a multilayer image (each layer is a new image), and the output is another multilayer image.
I want to avoid code duplication. I have several functions that could work well, but I don’t want to copy and paste the same code in several functions, because I want to avoid code duplication.
It’s difficult to avoid code repetition, because the code is different depending on the input parameters.
For example:

// layer 1: image


I want to avoid to copy and paste several times.
I thought about using inheritance, and creating an abstract base class.
I would like to do something like this:

Import any image files of various types (JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF and the list goes on) into the application.

Each image will be included into the slideshow as a thumbnail and can be set to a specific duration.

Add or record audio narration to each image during the slideshow or attach a different audio file for each image individually.

The EXE slideshow can be exported as a single EXE file (4.5MB).


Using the built-in EXE slideshow maker, you can create and export your slideshow to a single EXE file. The slideshow maker is easy to use and works great on almost any Windows platform. Simply, drag and drop the images you want to include into the application and it will do the rest for you.

Note: EXE Slideshow Maker is not a free software, you will be required to purchase an evaluation version with a 30-day trial period. Nevertheless, the developers have promised to release a free version of the application if it gets popular enough. However, at the moment, it is already quite versatile, so even the evaluation version should be good enough for your purposes.

If you are a real audio-addict (and I’m one of them) you should try MXF Slideshow Maker, which is freeware. (I haven’t tested it yet, though).

The authors studied the dynamics of the contents of calcium-binding protein (CaBP) of the seeds of Rhus vernicifera in the development of the pathological process in wheat grains and seeds. The changes in the CaBP level in the plant tissues were correlated with the changes in the content of the active enzymes–superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD)–and the content of free oxygen radicals (FR). The experimental evidence on the fact that an increase in CaBP level in the seeds and grains of wheat correlates with an increase in the activity of the enzymes participating in antioxidative protection of the plant tissues and an increase in the intensity of FR is presented.
